Meet & Greet
We understand the importance of compatibility and comfort for both dogs and their owners - that's why we offer a personalized meet and greet session before the first hike. During this initial meeting, our team will visit your home to get acquainted with you and your furry friend. This is an opportunity for us to understand your dog's unique personality, energy levels, and any special needs they might have. This also allows your dog to become familiar with our team, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable hiking experience. Our goal is to build trust and ensure that both you and your dog feel confident and excited about the upcoming adventures.

Booking an appointment for a dog hike day with Trailhounds is simple and convenient with our online scheduling platform. You can set up individual hikes or create a recurring schedule to alleviate your need to plan on a weekly basis.

We believe in providing dogs with enriching and joyful experiences in nature. Our dog hiking service takes your furry companions on exciting adventures where they can explore, play, and socialize with other dogs in a safe, natural environment. Each hike is carefully planned within the Denver Metro area to ensure plenty of playtime and interaction, allowing dogs to build friendships and enjoy the great outdoors. Along the way, they are given treats and water to keep them energized and hydrated. After the 2-hour hike, we take care to wipe down their paws, ensuring they return home clean and comfortable. Our dedicated team ensures every detail is covered, so your dog has a wonderful, worry-free day out in nature.

Requirements
Requirements for your dog to participate:

Leash trained.

Is calm in a vehicle to and from the hike.

At least 9 months of age.

Spayed or neutered.

Current with vaccinations. (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza, etc)

Excellent social skills around other dogs.

No history of aggressive behavior towards dogs or people.

How long is the Meet & Greet?Approximately 30 minutes.

How is the hike location decided on?Trails are selected on a daily basis depending on factors such as weather conditions and difficulty.

Do cancellations occur due to weather?Yes, we will use discretion to ensure a safe hike environment.

How long is a hiking day?From pick up to drop off, the day will last 4-6 hours and the hike itself is 2 hours.

How often do dogs typically go on hikes?We recommend 1-3 hikes per week with a day of rest in between hikes.

How do I book hikes?You will be emailed instructions on how to create an account with a booking software partner after the Meet & Greet. The software will allow you to book individual hikes or create a schedule.

Where do the dogs hike?Hikes take place on trails around the Denver metro (within 30 minutes drive).

What is the pricing?2-Hour Group Hike: $99/dog.

How do I pay for hikes?While creating your account with our booking software partner, you will be asked to input a preferred payment method which will be used for future payments.

When is pick up and drop off?Pick up is between 7-10 AM and drop off is between 12-3 PM. Times will vary based on the number of dogs hiking during a given day and temperature.

What is the cancellation policy?Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance.

What is/is not included in your offering?Included Treats, water, paw wipe down, personal crate during transit Not Included Harness, full shower

Does a homeowner need to be home for pick up and drop off?No, arrangements can be made for your dog to be picked up and dropped off without an owner being home.

When do I Review & Sign Documents?Documents will be emailed to you after you’ve set up the initial Meet & Greet. Our team can answer any questions regarding the Documents during the Meet & Greet.

Founded by Dustin Jackson in Denver, CO, Trailhounds was inspired by our own dog, Otis, who loves to get outdoors and socialize with other pup friends. We take dogs on exciting hikes in and around the Denver area, allowing them to express themselves in nature. Our focus is on promoting overall well-being for each dog. We ensure personalized care and attention, treating every dog as a cherished member of the family. Join us in providing your dog with the adventure and exercise they deserve.
